Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in a business or financial environment where you: Perform calculations, Follow policies and procedures, Provide client-focused service
  • Strong comfort working with numbers and financial concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • A certificate or diploma in business, finance, or a related field
  • Knowledge of pension plans or benefits
  • Familiarity with pension legislation and policies
  • Enrollment in the Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) program

Responsibilities

  • Processing benefit requests, including completing and reviewing calculations
  • Reviewing workflows to ensure requests are accurate and completed correctly
  • Running, verifying, and managing scheduled and ad hoc data processes
  • Updating member, pensioner, and corporate records beyond basic data entry
  • Using Microsoft Office and pension administration systems to review, validate, and prepare data and materials
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail, including identifying and correcting any issues
  • Handling returned mail in accordance with established procedures
  • Working closely with internal teams such as Member Services, Employer Services, and other operational groups to gather information and complete requests
  • Communicating professionally with internal colleagues and occasionally with external members or financial institutions
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment to meet service standards and deadlines
  • Ensure all work complies with pension legislation, policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
  • Identify discrepancies or potential risks and escalate issues as needed
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving processes, documentation, and quality practices
  • Support a client and team experience through responsive, accurate, and professional service
