About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Pension Analyst to join our team. This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for recent college graduates who have 0–2 years of relevant experience and are beginning a career in pension administration. In this role, you will receive training while supporting the administration of defined benefit pension plans across single employer, public employer, and multi-employer environments. You will build foundational skills in benefit calculations, participant communication, and defined benefit pension regulations. The ideal candidate likes working with numbers, reviewing plan provisions, and collaborating with both clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality defined benefit pension administration services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, business, economics, accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in participant-facing communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, approachable manner.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality standards.

Nice To Haves

  • 0–2 years of experience in defined benefit pension administration, finance, benefits, or a related field
  • Exposure to defined benefit plans or retirement plan administration
  • Customer service or participant communication experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing individual benefit calculations and recurring benefit statements for defined benefit pension plans using a variety of calculation tools.
  • Prepare pension distribution forms and participant correspondence.
  • Learn to review plan documents, provisions, and administrative practices to support accurate benefit calculations and participant questions.
  • Support responses to participant inquiries by phone and in writing with professionalism, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Serve as a Service Center representative when needed.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and well-organized records.
  • Assist with new client transitions, including documentation, setting up processes, and participant communications.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, plan participants, and internal stakeholders regarding deliverables, timelines, and status updates.
  • Take ownership of work quality, accuracy, and timeliness, meeting service level agreements and internal deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating individual initiative.
  • Adhere to hybrid work expectations, including being in the office three days per week (exceptions may be provided on an ad-hoc basis).
