About The Position

Fusion Technology is seeking a Pega Developer SME to join their team. This role involves utilizing Pega Business Orchestration and Automation Technology (BOAT) in the development and sustainment of systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud-native architectures, testing, and modern CI/CD practices and tools, and be comfortable contributing across the full stack. Duties include computer programming, documenting, managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks within a software release life cycle.

Requirements

  • DOD Secret Clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 12-15 years of experience or a Master's Degree with 10-13 years of prior experience.
  • Expertise in Pega Business Orchestration and Automation Technology is required.
  • Expertise in backend development in one or more programming languages (Java, Spring Boot).
  • Automated testing experience with end-to-end testing, regression testing, integration testing.
  • Experience in Lean-Agile development, Agile IT project management, planning, metrics review events.
  • Experience with Agile project management software such as Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Knowledge of working with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Gitlab.
  • Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and system scalability.
  • Must hold active Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
  • One or more Pega Systems certifications (e.g.: Pega Systems Architect, Pega Senior Systems Architect).
  • Experience integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) into IT systems for enhanced performance and functionality.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices interfaces.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (Hashicorp Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
  • Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Elastic Search).
  • Automated testing with SmartBear SoapUI and Selenium/Zalenium.
  • A working knowledge and experience with the following are preferred as they will be used to complete Software Engineering tasks: SAFe 6, Git, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, SQL Developer, Jira, GitLab, Java, Spring, Maven, NEIM XML, EBTS.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Pega Business Orchestration and Automation Technology in the on-going development and operational sustainment of large, complex IT systems.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and PI planning events.
  • Perform software engineering functions, including design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for enhancements and new software-intensive systems.
  • Apply appropriate principles, standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results.
  • Recommend and develop new technical solutions, products, and/or standards in support of functions' strategy and operations.
  • Lead and manage the work of other technical staff that has significant impact on project results/outputs.
  • Resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualization, reasoning, and interpretation.
  • Develop solutions that are highly innovative and achieved through research and integration of best practices.
  • Communicate with executive leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the organization/project.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within a technical domain area.
  • Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, customers, and engineers to deliver new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following best practices.
  • Review code and mentor junior engineers.
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure for applications.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues and implement long-term solutions.
