About The Position

Copa Health is seeking a Full-Time Peer Support Training Coordinator to ensure the provision of quality services in the Peer Support Training program. This role involves marketing, completing enrollments, instructing training, documentation, and completing reports. The coordinator will also assist in the Work Adjustment Training program as needed, including on-site workshops, off-site enclaves, and at the Arizona State Hospital. The position requires ensuring departmental operations comply with contract requirements, accreditation, licensing, and monitoring standards, as well as agency procedures, Federal/State/Local regulations, and HIPAA/HITECH requirements. The role involves coordinating information, resolving challenges, communicating with integrity, and maintaining professional relationships with various stakeholders. Responsibilities include providing prompt and accurate information and referrals, coordinating intake and orientation for new individuals in the Peer Support Training Program, maintaining knowledge of case records, coordinating referrals, and adhering to the philosophy of normalization and community integration. Awareness of and adherence to agency policies and procedures to ensure HIPAA compliance is also crucial.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in the area of social services, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated responsible administrative experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with individuals with mental health challenges and/or substance abuse issues. May include volunteer work and/or personal lived experience.
  • Must have a fingerprint clearance card issued by the AZ Department of Public Safety or be eligible to receive one within eight (8) weeks of hire. (If a Good Cause Exception is required, this must be taken care of BEFORE hire date.)

  • Peer Support Credential preferred, or the ability to become credentialed once hired.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the maintenance of departmental operations to achieve compliance with contract requirements, accreditation, licensing and monitoring standards, agency procedures, Federal/State/Local regulations and all other licensing/regulatory agencies as directed.
  • Adhere to current training requirements and applicable accreditation and licensing/regulatory standards and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Health Information Technology for Economic Clinical Health (HITECH ) requirements.
  • Coordinate information and contribute to the successful resolution of challenges.
  • Communicate with integrity and honesty, clearly and concisely, and in a respectful manner to all team members.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of written, verbal and electronic communications pertaining to members, staff, families of consumers and agency operations.
  • Demonstrate and maintain professional, respectful, productive working relationships with all agency departments, staff, board members, funding sources, individuals receiving services, families utilizing or enquiring about services, funding sources and the community.
  • Provide prompt and accurate information and referrals to appropriate sources for inquiries.
  • Coordinate the intake and orientation of new individuals in the Peer Support Training Program, including, maintaining current knowledge of the case records of individuals receiving services, coordinating referrals to appropriate resources as needed, and adhering to the philosophy of normalization and community integration.
  • Demonstrate awareness of and adherence to agency policy and procedures to ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements.
