About The Position

Provides effective screenings and crisis intervention to at-risk individuals and families engaging in homeless services in the community. Work with individuals and families to prevent crisis and promote treatment engagement, while assessing risk ongoing. Assist individuals to deal with substance use; family, parenting, and marital problems; suicide; stress management; financial issues; and issues associated with aging and behavioral health. Obtain and maintain knowledge of and actively refer to various social services resources in Charlotte County and surrounding areas. Receive referrals from the community based homeless services providers. Engage with individuals in the community and their living environment. Monitor individuals in need of services and encourage engagement in treatment. Maintain accurate, complete and current documentation in accordance with internal and external requirements. Provide clinical services, as needed. Cooperate with agency staff and external providers and interact with community on behalf of the program. Provide transportation, when necessary and appropriate.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
  • Valid FL drivers’ license, insurance, and safe driving record.
  • CBHC New Hire Orientation (NHO) completed within first two (2) months of employment.
  • Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in collaboration with other community partners.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries.
