About The Position

Protocall Services is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to work remotely from Santa Fe, New Mexico. This role involves providing crisis intervention and support services over the phone, connecting with individuals seeking assistance through the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line (NMCAL) and the New Mexico Peer-to-Peer Warmline. Specialists will build rapport, engage clients, and offer resources, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor. The position requires working from a distraction-free private office space, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Protocall Services is a national leader in crisis intervention, recognized for its outstanding workplace culture. Peer Support Specialists will leverage their lived experience to offer hope, recovery, and support, working collaboratively with colleagues in a structured environment that includes ongoing meetings, training, and team-building activities. Professional handling of confidential information and a continued commitment to personal recovery are essential.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Certified Peer Support Worker, Family Peer, Wraparound or Equivalent
  • Accepted certifications, CFPSW, CPSW, and CWF or Equivalent
  • Current experience as a peer
  • Willingness to acquire certification in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Continued commitment to your own recovery is essential for this role

Responsibilities

  • Working from home maintaining HIPAA compliance and focus requiring distraction-free private office space
  • Speak with callers over the phone connecting with people
  • Building rapport and client engagement
  • Provide available resources or information needed
  • Remaining calm and professional while multi-tasking while supporting callers
  • Engage with the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line (NMCAL)
  • Build empowering peer relationships with individuals who are in search of someone who will listen
  • Work with and grow a connection with people as someone who has walked a similar path
  • Offer hope, as well as recovery and support services, while sharing your lived experience with each person who reaches out to the New Mexico Peer-to-Peer Warmline
  • Work closely with one another as the Warmline is a unique, structured environment
  • Take part in ongoing meetings, training and team building activities
  • Handle confidential information professionally
