Peer Support Specialist (WISe - School based)
About The Position
Excelsior Wellness Center is seeking a Peer Support Specialist for its School-Based Wraparound with Intensive Services (SB-WISe) program. SB-WISe is a school-based model that provides personalized support to Medicaid-eligible youth enrolled in PK–12 public schools and their families as they manage complex emotional and mental health needs at home and in their communities. The Peer Support Specialist joins the treatment team to provide outreach, engagement, and ongoing support to enrolled youth and families. The role uses personal experiences of recovery to guide and support youth or families in their own recovery. The specialist also participates in an on-call rotation so families can access crisis services 24/7, including phone support and in-person response.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completed or ability to complete specialized Washington State HCA training to become a Certified Youth or Family Specialist.
- At least one year of experience working or volunteering directly with youth.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for employment.
- Employees with out-of-state driver’s licenses must obtain a Washington State driver’s license within 30 days of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Dual certification as a Certified Youth and Family Specialist.
Responsibilities
