The Peer Support Specialist provides recovery-focused peer support services as part of a multidisciplinary team serving individuals with substance use disorders. This role emphasizes empowering patients in their recovery journey through advocacy, coaching, and support. Services may be delivered individually or in group settings and are tailored to culturally diverse and socioeconomically disadvantaged populations. The Peer Support Specialist helps patients overcome barriers related to self-care, communication, decision-making, and navigating the healthcare system. This position works closely with Substance Use Navigators (SUNs), psychologists, grant teams, and Addiction Medicine Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
