About The Position

CMHA-CEI is a Michigan Certified Bronze Level Veteran Friendly Employer and we encourage active military service members, veterans, and their family members to apply. Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), provides an enhanced level of support for persons with mental illness and substance use disorders. Duties include a variety of supportive services and direct interventions with consumers in accordance with treatment plans developed by professional personnel. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

Possession of high school diploma or a G.E.D. required.
A minimum of one (1) year of experience interacting with persons with emotional impairments required.
Must have experienced a significant disruption in their lives from the onset of a severe mental illness, have received public mental health services currently or in the past for the mental illness (preferably with CMHA-CEI), and are now in recovery.
May be required to have access to reliable transportation for job related use.
Must be able to communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written form.
May be required to use Therapeutic Options when appropriate according to approved agency policies/procedures.
Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police clearance.
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Must obtain Peer Support Specialist certification within ninety (90) days of hire through the mandatory MDCH Peer Support Specialist certification program.
May be required to possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
