About The Position

Network180 is seeking a Crisis Center Recovery Coach or Crisis Center Peer Support Specialist to join their team. This role involves providing interventions for clients experiencing a behavioral health crisis, assisting them in understanding and accessing substance use disorder and mental health services. The specialist will model competency in recovery and demonstrate ongoing coping skills within the Crisis Center, which includes a Brief Intervention Clinic and Crisis Stabilization Unit. This is a part-time, non-exempt position working 30 hours per week on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, performed in person at 260 Jefferson Ave SE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience; may include volunteer work.
  • Actively working in a recovery program (12-step, church/spiritual, or other recovery support group).
  • State of Michigan Certified Peer Recovery Coach or be eligible and obtain certification by the State as a Peer Recovery Coach within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Knowledge and skills sufficient for establishing effective relationships with clients who have a substance use disorder, their families, and team members.
  • Knowledge about substance use disorders as it pertains to recovery and crisis planning.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities.
  • Primary diagnosis of a mental health condition, or Have a strong personal knowledge of what it is like to have first-hand lived experience with a mental health condition that has caused a substantial life disruption, or Has been a recipient of mental health treatment and/or services for at least one year, with a substantial life disruption due to their mental health condition, or Have personal experience in navigating complex mental health treatment services.
  • Knowledge about mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders as well as recovery and crisis intervention.
  • Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic health record, and data entry skills.
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • State of Michigan Certified Peer Recovery Coach or be eligible and obtain certification by the State as a Peer Recovery Coach within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • State of Michigan Certified Peer Support Specialist or be eligible to become certified by the State as a Peer Support Specialist within 90 days of hire.
