Peer Support Specialist (ACT Team) 📍 Winston-Salem, NC (Forsyth County Coverage) 💰 $20.00 – $24.00 per hour 🕒 Full-Time | Day Schedule Use Your Lived Experience to Make a Real Impact Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) serving Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. In this role, you’ll use your lived experience to support individuals with mental health and substance use challenges—helping them build stability, access resources, and move toward long-term recovery. About Pyramid Healthcare Since 2006, Pyramid Healthcare has been a leader in behavioral health and substance use treatment across North Carolina. Our services include Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), Cross-Area Services, and ACTT programs. We are committed to meeting clients where they are and providing personalized, recovery-focused care. About the ACT Team Our ACTT program is a community-based, multidisciplinary team providing intensive support to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Services are delivered in the community and focus on mental health, substance use recovery, vocational support, and housing stability.

Requirements

  • Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) – North Carolina (Required)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for helping others in recovery

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support using your lived experience as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Build trusting relationships with clients and support their recovery goals
  • Assist with treatment planning and ongoing client engagement
  • Maintain accurate client records, including documentation and care plans
  • Communicate regularly with referral sources and care team members
  • Help clients access community resources, including providing or coordinating transportation
  • Facilitate weekly psychoeducational and support groups
  • Participate in team meetings and document daily staffing updates
  • Respond to crisis situations as needed, including supporting emergency interventions
  • Perform additional duties to support team and client success
