The Peer Support Services Supervisor (PSSS) provides support to the Director of Clinical Quality in developing and implementing agency-wide programming that ensures quality service provision and staff competence. The PSSS responsibilities include training and supporting Peer Support Specialists and Parent Partners; overseeing and ensuring fidelity to best practices; utilizing outcomes measures to track progress; and training agency staff in areas of expertise. The PSSS must be familiar with Evidence-Based Practices, best practices, and treatment guidelines relevant to target populations, including Motivational Interviewing. This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, and thorough knowledge of the role and responsibilities of Peers and Parent Partners in the delivery of team-based care. The Service Supervisor will provide direct services to a small caseload of clients.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist in the state of Washington.
  • Strong skills and knowledge of care standards in the treatment of adults, children, and families facing multiple barriers (abuse, neglect, domestic violence, chemical dependency, poverty, etc.)
  • Experience working directly with clients in mental/behavioral health, social work, or medical settings.
  • Personal experience as a consumer of mental/behavioral health services.
  • Experience supervising and providing consultation to client-serving staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of professionals and a diverse population.
  • Adhere to a high standard for quality of supervision services provided.
  • Familiar working within a team-based, multi-disciplinary model of care.
  • Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care principles and service provision.
  • Experience utilizing an electronic health records system.
  • Must be able to travel between sites and provide services in multiple locations.
  • Multicultural awareness and valuing of diversities in the workplace.
  • Good communication skills, teamwork, and attitude.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Pass required background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in supporting the mission and goals of Valley Cities, including ensuring and expanding quality service provision.
  • Promotes an organizational vision and environment that emphasizes teamwork, trust, professionalism, efficiency, and customer service.
  • Prioritizes recovery, wellness, and a culture of Trauma-Informed Care in working with staff and clients.
  • Model principles and standards for clinical excellence.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with Evidence-Based Practices and best practices relevant to target populations, including Motivational Interviewing.
  • Endeavors to define and develop refine and integrate the Peer role in relation to Valley Cities’ Model of Care.
  • Works closely with fellow Clinical Service Supervisors to define roles, provide education regarding effective Model of Care functioning, and implement and evaluate programming.
  • Advocates for the needs of Peers to Senior Leadership, including making workload and workflow recommendations.
  • Works with Director of Clinical Quality and Clinic/Program Managers to develop and implement clinical quality assurance programs, including supervision services.
  • Develops and maintains supervision programs, including providing education and training to staff and supervisors.
