About The Position

The Peer Supervisor provides leadership, mentorship, and supervision to the Peer Mentor team working within the Peer Support program. The Peer Mentor team provides support, outreach and education from a harm reduction approach and from the perspective of lived experience. This role promotes a culture of hope, recovery, inclusion, and continuous learning while ensuring peer services are delivered in alignment with organizational values, best practices, and program objectives. The successful candidate will combine strong leadership skills with a commitment to peer support principles and a passion for supporting individuals on their recovery journeys. We are hiring for one (1) full time, permanent position to fill a new position.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Social Services, Community Development, Addictions, Mental Health, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lived experience of substance use recovery and/or mental health recovery, with the ability to use this experience appropriately within a professional setting.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention, CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in peer support, addictions, mental health, or community services.
  • At least 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience.
  • Strong understanding of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and harm reduction approaches.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with documentation, data collection, and computer applications.
  • Must have access to reliable and efficient transportation is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regular supervision, coaching, and performance support to the Peer Mentors.
  • Facilitate team meetings, case consultations, and peer debriefing sessions.
  • Support staff development through training, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and trauma-informed team environment.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of peer support programs and services.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Support scheduling, workload management, and resource allocation for peer services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to enhance service coordination.
  • Provides direct peer support services and will assume a caseload of no more than 20% of working hours.
  • Promote recovery-oriented, strengths-based approaches that empower clients to achieve their goals.
  • Assist clients in navigating community resources and treatment options.
  • Support crisis intervention and risk management processes as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to program evaluation, outcome measurement, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Identify emerging service needs and provide recommendations for program enhancement.
  • Support the collection and analysis of service data.
