About The Position
To serve as a person's individual advocate, develop opportunities for skill development and assure that the person's choices drive their goals and plans.
Requirements
- A valid NYS drivers license is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Must be a Certified Peer Specialist or have provisional certification through NY York Peer Specialists (NYCPS) or The New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB).
- Must have an understanding of recovery concepts and person-centered approaches and be successfully implementing them in their own recovery.
- Participates in orientation and continuing education.
- Updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
- Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.
