At Diversus Health you have the opportunity to contribute to changing lives and communities by joining our diverse and inclusive team as a Peer Support Specialist and adding to the 13,000+ lives already impacted by carefully tailored mental and behavioral health care. The Peer Support Specialist shows compassion, dignity, and respect; possesses active and reflective listening skills; has a clear sense of boundaries; and is far enough in the recovery process that they can manage job difficulties without compromising their own personal wellness and recovery plan. This role involves outreach and educating community and individual clients to provide an understanding of basic mental health and substance use education and peer-to-peer support through engagement and skill building. The specialist maintains current knowledge and information on community resources, assists in completing consumer forms, and helps train, support, and guide clients in addressing overall needs and increasing community connection. They preserve community relationships that positively impact services for individuals with mental health and substance use issues, connect with marginalized populations to provide support, and apply Diversus Health's strengths-based, solution-focused approach. The specialist also alerts the team of potential crisis interventions as needed. Diversus Health aims to help people lead healthier, more fulfilling lives by improving access to trusted, affordable, and personalized mental healthcare.
