About The Position

Marian House is a residential recovery housing program for women and their children. We provide trauma-informed care, supportive housing, and recovery services to help women achieve stability, sobriety, and independence. We are hiring a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to provide peer support services to women in recovery. This role is ideal for someone with lived experience who is passionate about supporting others through substance use recovery, mental health challenges, and reentry.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) - required
  • Ability to work in a residential or supportive housing environment
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use, recovery support, or social services preferred
  • Evening and/or weekend availability preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support through one-on-one and group sessions
  • Assist residents with recovery planning and goal setting
  • Support individuals with substance use recovery and mental health needs
  • Connect residents to community resources, housing, and employment
  • Model healthy coping skills and recovery strategies
  • Advocate for residents and support self-advocacy and empowerment
  • Collaborate with case managers and multidisciplinary team members
