Peer Recovery Support Specialists at SAGE Counseling assist clients involved in the criminal justice system or re-entering the community. This role provides personalized support, leveraging lived experience to help clients navigate resources and achieve their goals. The position involves facilitating groups, addressing social determinants of health, and connecting clients to various services like primary care, recovery groups, behavioral health, medication-assisted treatment, and employment opportunities. Specialists utilize coaching, mentoring, and role modeling based on established PRSS credentialed practices. Interventions focus on identifying needs, reducing isolation, increasing practical knowledge, exploring education/employment, collaborating with healthcare practitioners, and overcoming service barriers. While primarily office-based, there's potential for remote work, but the majority of the schedule involves in-person client meetings and travel across Maricopa County to SAGE clinics and sites. SAGE provides necessary equipment.
