About The Position

The Peer Recovery Support Services staff is responsible for working with the counselors, community and clients to assist in the development of natural supports for individuals in recovery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 or more years of sobriety required
• Willing and able to share your personal story of recovery to assist clients and the community
• Willing and able to obtain Peer Recovery Support Services credentials from Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services within 6 months of hire
• Required to be HIPAA and Privacy Act Trained, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

• Preference given to recovery from opioids or stimulants
• Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of natural supports for individuals in recovery.
• Share personal story of recovery to assist clients and the community.
• Seek out community resources and share them with clients.
• Speak to community members about the goals/objectives of the grant.
