The teams focus on meeting individuals where they are, acting as trusted guides and partners on their journey to better health. Using lived experience, team members build trust and support individuals in reconnecting to necessary healthcare while minimizing inappropriate utilization. The company aims to change how society supports those most impacted by SMI. This role is a calling for passionate problem-solvers to tackle complex healthcare challenges, offering work with purpose, collaboration with motivated colleagues, and an environment that celebrates learning, creativity, and fun. Internally, this role is referred to as a firsthand Guide (fG) or Core Guide. In this peer-led model, fGs are critical for outreach and engagement, supporting individuals with SMI to achieve and maintain behavioral and physical wellness. They are empowered to connect with individuals who have disengaged from or never accessed services that can improve their quality of life. This role combines the expertise of a Peer Recovery Specialist with firsthand's distinctive approach and mission.
