About The Position

LMC Footcare is seeking a Pedorthist for an exciting opportunity to build a strong patient base and be clinically challenged. LMC Footcare is part of LMC Healthcare, Canada’s largest specialist care provider, with a focus on diabetes, endocrinology & metabolism. LMC operates 11 multi-disciplinary centres and 20 clinical research sites. The organization is professionally managed and offers strong clinical infrastructure, mentorship, and stability within a collaborative team culture. The skilled team includes various medical specialists working together to manage patient care. LMC has an extensive patient referral system, leading to a wide variety of patients with simple to complex footcare concerns, including those with diabetes, biomechanical issues, and skin/nail conditions. The organization utilizes interconnected PIPPEDA compliant EMR, CRM, online booking, billing, reminder, and LMS systems to provide efficient and exceptional care. Medical Office Administrators support the clinics, handling administrative tasks so clinicians can focus on patient care. This role is a contracted, part-time position at the LMC Ottawa location.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Expertise in providing care to individuals with diabetes.
  • Proficiency in use of EMR systems.
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Canadian Certified Pedorthist C. Ped (C)
  • Member in good standing with College of Pedorthics of Canada without limitations.

Responsibilities

  • Full scope of practice according to the standards of the College of Pedorthics of Canada.
  • Providing patient care including and not limited to nail and callous care, wart treatments, treating chronic and acute wounds, performing soft tissue surgeries, biomechanical and gait analysis for offloading purposes.
  • Collaborating with an inter-professional team including Endocrinologists, Nurses, Diabetes Educators, Pharmacists, etc.
  • Ensuring treatment rooms and equipment are all well maintained.
  • Providing foot education to patients and other local professionals.
  • Networking with community physicians.
