About The Position

The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences has a faculty position opening for a Pediatrician in the Department of Pediatrics. Faculty in the department of Pediatrics will devote full-time attention and efforts to fulfilling at the highest levels of professional competence the ethical, educational, and academic duties and responsibilities of the appointment as may be assigned by the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. The selected candidate will be expected to participate fully and with distinction in both undergraduate and graduate medical education, and to carry out their share of advising duties and committee assignments. The primary responsibilities, representing approximately 90% of efforts, will be to provide clinical services in the specialty of Pediatrics at the assigned clinical location. Along with clinical duties, participation in the training program for all learners in the college and engagement in research and scholarship is expected.

Requirements

  • Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Ohio.
  • Membership and in good standing on the medical staff of the University of Toledo Medical Center and affiliated hospitals, with clinical privileges in the Department of Pediatrics.
  • Eligibility as a certified provider in the Medicare, Medicaid and other federal and state health care programs.
  • Insurability in the professional liability policy of the practice plan.
  • Active candidacy or diplomate status with the American Board of Pediatrics.
  • Successful completion of a 3-year accredited Pediatric residency with suitability for performance of Primary Care.
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics – ABP.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and self-motivation with the ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to learn new systems and adapt to changes.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Requires own transportation to accommodate on and off work activities.
  • Experience with research and clinical studies.
  • Experience with collaborative quality improvement projects.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate department needs (early AM or later PM meetings as required).
