About The Position

This is a part-time (50% FTE, 20 hours per week) permanent position located at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA. The role supports and oversees the day-to-day operations of an ACGME residency/fellowship training program, ensuring continued program accreditation and compliance with institutional, local, state, and federal regulatory standards. The coordinator will be a key contributor to the Program Director(s), faculty members, and Program Administrator in developing and maintaining the educational quality of the training program. Responsibilities include coordinating on-site events and meetings, serving as a point of contact for residents and visitors, tracking resident allowances and reimbursements, and collaborating with program leadership to meet educational goals. The position also involves maintaining resident/fellowship space and liaising with Sacred Heart Hospital for space needs, requiring knowledge of educational and operational activities at various training sites.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience (for Program Assistant).
  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience with assistance, support or coordination of activities related to healthcare, graduate medical education and/or resident activities, undergraduate medical education or the health sciences OR equivalent education/experience (for Program Coordinator).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills in person, email, videoconference, and phone.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in assisting, supporting, or coordinating activities related to healthcare, graduate medical education, and/or resident activities, undergraduate medical education, or the health sciences (for Program Assistant).
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or higher education industry.
  • Experience with any or all of the following financial activities: accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget development/maintenance, purchasing, travel.
  • Experience assisting in planning and coordinating conferences, events, workshops etc.
