About The Position

This is a part-time Pediatrics Instructor position for an Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/RN) program. The instructor's primary responsibilities include providing active and effective learning experiences for students in various educational settings, serving as a professional and academic role model, and committing to student satisfaction. This involves teaching in classrooms, labs, and during campus and student activities. The role delivers high-quality instruction, blending theoretical knowledge with practical experience, develops and implements curriculum, assesses student progress, and ensures adherence to industry standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Active and unencumbered RN licensure in the state of Florida
• 3 years of clinical experience
• Experience in pediatric nursing
• Expertise in the area of assignment that demonstrates the skills needed to provide instruction
• Design and deliver engaging educational content, adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles
• Build rapport with students, clinical partners, and colleagues, fostering a positive learning environment
• Flexibility to stay current with industry advancements and incorporate new knowledge into teaching practices
• Competence in evaluating student performance and providing constructive feedback
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective instruction and interaction with students and colleagues
• Commitment to ongoing learning and participation in professional growth opportunities
• Use hearing and sight (both near and far vision) frequently (80% or more of workday)
• Communicate with students and provide direct instruction frequently (80% or more of workday)
• Use fine motor skills to operate personal computers, manual and electrical equipment, as well as various diagnostic or procedure equipment occasionally (up to 50% of workday)
• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with the assistance of mechanical interventions, students, or other employees rarely (less than 20% of workday)
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to provide instruction in labs and demonstrate procedures rarely (less than 20% of workday)
• Able and willing to communicate, think, learn, and reason
• Able and willing to use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasks
• Able and willing to safely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at Company locations
• Able and willing to demonstrate and utilize active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering and category flexibility

Responsibilities

• Organize and deliver class objectives in a clear, concise manner
• Foster and maintain an orderly, controlled, and safe environment for students in classrooms and labs
• Maintain and prepare training aids, tools, and equipment in the classroom and lab
• Maintain curriculum accuracy by keeping up to date on industry standards and practices
• Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and practical assessments
• Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them achieve academic and professional success
• Identify and report on any at-risk students; creates individualized success plans to mitigate attrition
• Foster relationships with students to help them meet program competency requirements
• Provide periodic and ad-hoc reporting to stakeholders
• Meet with students and education personnel to discuss instructional programs and related issues
• Provide and maintain regular, substantive interaction with students in online course components
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress
• Deliver engaging lectures and lab sessions on assigned topics, diagnostic procedures, equipment operation and troubleshooting, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
