About The Position

Community Health Centers of South Central Texas, Inc. (CHCSCT, Inc.), a FQHC (not for profit), is currently seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Pediatrician for our Victoria Community Health Center location. The Pediatrician is responsible for the delivery of quality medical care to patients of the Community Health Centers of South Central Texas, Inc. and functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team within the scope of their specialty and standards of the Medical Board.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Pediatrician.
  • Must have admission privileges at hospitals frequently used by clinic patients.
  • Must provide a minimum of 4200 primary care encounters for the contract year.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and maintain HIPAA standards of privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the analysis of community health problems and assists in the development of the community health care plan.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement/Risk Management activities.
  • Participates in the review and development of patient care policies, including health maintenance schedules and continuity of care.
  • Participates in the review and development of protocols and standing orders.
  • Implements the plans, procedures and protocols for the medical team.
  • Performs emergency on-call on a scheduled basis with other physicians.
  • Provides clinic sessions, as scheduled, in direct patient care at clinic site, including extended hours clinics.
  • Provides services equaling to at least forty (40) hours per week in clinic.
  • Will have admission privileges at hospitals frequently used by clinic patients.
  • Will provide a minimum of four thousand, - two hundred (4200) primary care encounters for the contract year.
  • Participates in in-service education programs and preceptorship training of other members of health care team as appropriate.
  • Develops positive relationships with local medical and dental groups, hospital staff, medical and dental societies and consumer groups.
  • Conducts, attends and participates in all relevant meetings within and outside the Health Center.
  • Maintains professional courtesy at all times.
  • Submits agency forms and documentation in a timely manner. (Improvement activities, response to memorandums, travel reconciliation, supply requests, leave requests, monthly in-service).
  • Actively participates in agency performance improvement initiatives such as chronic care management and utilizes the approved methodology such as PDSA.
  • Positively contributes to staff morale and corporate culture.
  • Ensures that work assignments and information gathered from day to day is not shared with anyone and protects all patient and agency information. Is knowledgeable of and maintains HIPAA standards of privacy and confidentiality.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned and supports the agencies Mission, Vision and Values Statement.
