The Pediatrician is responsible for the provision of primary care medical services in a Patient Centered Health Home context, with a focus on access to care. This role involves the direct provision of primary care medical services, meeting all established productivity expectations. The Pediatrician will provide examinations, review laboratory, referral, and imaging results to determine diagnoses, and accurately document visits using appropriate templates. They are accountable for attaining budgeted visits, meeting clinical care measures, and ensuring records are locked within the 72-hour window. The position requires a focus on Pediatrics professional goals and providing comprehensive, continuous, and coordinated care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults from birth to age 21, addressing their physical, emotional, and social health. This includes treatment of acute and chronic illness, health promotion, disease prevention, anticipatory guidance, and monitoring physical and psycho-social growth and development. The Pediatrician will advocate for access to care and a medical home for all children, focusing on structured evaluation, early intervention, and health promotion. Excellent customer service and courtesy are expected in all interactions with patients, families, and staff. The provider must remain aware of wait times and provide patients with appropriate educational materials based on their health literacy needs. The role promotes and participates in daily huddles, incorporates ancillary health team members in patient care management, and is responsible for setting and monitoring self-management plans. The Pediatrician will assist in assuring clinical procedures, maintaining up-to-date clinical protocols, and completing chart and peer reviews in a timely manner. They will also assist the patient care team with performance improvement efforts, staff education, FHCN promotion, performance evaluations, and quality improvement. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the preceptorship of mid-level practitioners and, where relevant, participating in rotations with medical students, physician assistant students, and dental residents. Participation in Network Health Fairs and other community events, as well as meaningful participation in site and provider meetings, is expected. The Pediatrician must meet Network and credentialing expectations for licensure and employment and adhere to the Attendance and Absenteeism Policy, recognizing that regular attendance is an essential function. The ability to present to and work at any FHCN location based on business need is required. Other duties as assigned.
