About The Position
Fraser Health Authority (FHA) is seeking three qualified 1.0 FTE pediatricians to join the medical staff at the Royal Columbian Hospital to provide urgent pediatric services. The team is collegial and works closely with Obstetricians and Emergency personnel. Royal Columbian Hospital has approximately 3,500 births per year and a Level 3 nursery. The pediatrician group works from 08:00 to 17:00. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a practice in the area, with opportunities to participate in FHA subspecialty clinics. Collaboration with surrounding hospitals ensures access to pediatric inpatient services for children and youth in nearby areas. FHA has developed strong local and provincial partnerships with BC Children’s Hospital and other local hospitals. Rapid population growth and family housing necessitate ongoing recruitment and service expansions. As a member of the Fraser Health medical staff, participation in the University of British Columbia (UBC) medical education program is expected, including applying for a clinical faculty appointment in the Division of Pediatrics, UBC.
