About The Position

We are seeking a Pediatrician for a locum tenens position at an Outpatient Community Health Center in Puyallup, WA. This role involves scheduled clinical coverage, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no on-call duties. The pediatrician will provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care to patients from newborns through age 18, serving diverse and vulnerable populations. The position requires experience with the Epic EMR system and the ability to manage a high patient volume efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The coverage period is for 3 months, with a possibility of extension.

Requirements

Board Certification: BC/BE in Pediatrics required
License Requirement: Active Washington license required
DEA Requirement: Active Washington DEA required
Certifications Required: ACLS or BLS required
Must have experience with Epic EMR
Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting
Must have clean background and malpractice history
Ability to independently manage high patient volume efficiently

Nice To Haves

PALS, NRP, ATLS, ENLS, NIH Stroke Certification
Community Health Center experience preferred
Comfortable working with vulnerable populations including migrants and refugees

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care for newborns through adolescents
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions
Document patient encounters accurately within Epic EMR
Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams and clinic support staff
Deliver compassionate and culturally sensitive care to diverse patient populations
Maintain productivity expectations within a fast-paced clinical environment
Perform pediatric wellness visits
Conduct sick visits and acute pediatric care
Provide preventive pediatric services and immunizations
Perform outpatient pediatric evaluations and management
