The Pediatrician is responsible for the provision of primary care medical services in a Patient Centered Health Home context, with a focus on access to care. This role involves the direct provision of primary care medical services, meeting all established productivity expectations. The Pediatrician will provide examinations, review laboratory, referral, and imaging results to determine a diagnosis, and document visits accurately utilizing appropriate templates. They are accountable for attaining budgeted visits, meeting clinical care measures, and locking records within the 72-hour window. The position requires a focus on Pediatrics professional goals and providing comprehensive, continuous, and coordinated care with an emphasis on the physical, emotional, and social health of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults from birth to age 21. This includes treatment of acute and chronic illness, health promotion and maintenance, health supervision, anticipatory guidance, and monitoring physical and psycho social growth and development with age-appropriate screening. The role advocates for access to care and a medical home for all children, focusing on structured evaluation, early intervention, and health promotion. Excellent customer service and courtesy are expected when interacting with patients, family members, and staff. The provider must remain aware of wait times, provide appropriate educational materials, and promote patient status as measured by clinical quality measures. Participation in daily huddles, incorporating ancillary health team members, and setting/monitoring self-management plans are key responsibilities. The Pediatrician will assist in assuring clinical procedures, maintaining up-to-date clinical protocols, and completing chart and peer reviews in a timely manner. They will also assist the patient care team with performance improvement efforts, staff education, FHCN promotion, performance evaluations, and quality improvement. Assisting in the preceptorship of mid-level practitioners and participating in rotations for medical, physician assistant students, and dental residents are also part of the role. Participation in Network Health Fairs, community events, and site/provider meetings is expected. The Pediatrician must meet Network and credentialing expectations for licensure and employment and adhere to the Attendance and Absenteeism Policy. The ability to present to and work at any FHCN location is required. Other duties as assigned.
