About The Position

PM Pediatric Care is the largest pediatric urgent care network in the country, founded and led by pediatric emergency physicians. Our mission is to provide high-quality, convenient, and accessible pediatric urgent care as an alternative to the emergency department. We are academically driven, offering practice guidelines, CME-accredited lectures, a national conference, and data for research. We provide a supportive work environment with comprehensive individualized learning programs, including procedural training, radiology interpretation, and an evidence-based approach to illness/injury. Our centers are set up like an ED in a private practice setting with on-site x-ray and lab services, excellent support staff, specialty consultations, and a diverse case mix with high acuity. We maintain strong community relationships and an outstanding reputation. The work schedule is flexible with no overnights, offering roles from 12-36 hours per week (PT/FT).

  • BC/BE in Pediatrics.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and provide evidence-based treatment to pediatric and young adult urgent care patients in both in-person and telemedicine settings.
  • Assess and treat acute injury and illness, including management of febrile infants/children, ENT infections, pediatric abdominal pain, anaphylaxis, procedural anxiolysis, respiratory distress, croup, and asthma.
  • Perform procedural care such as abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair.
  • Take radiographs and provide preliminary interpretation of x-rays (in applicable states).
  • Oversee patient flow and daily office functions, including oversight of other providers, staff, and trainees.
  • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
  • Collaborate with onsite and telemedicine teams to ensure completion of daily tasks, including lab and radiology result review, patient follow-up, and timely responses.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, equitable, and healthy work environment by following safety procedures, quality standards, and legal regulations.
  • Protect patient care information by maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Update knowledge and skills through internal training, continuing education, professional publications, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Assist the clinical team and patients with complaints and participate in service recovery.
  • Focus on efficiency metrics to improve urgent care flow, antibiotic stewardship, and patient experience.
