About The Position

The Pediatric Trauma Fellowship at Emory University, based out of the Division of Pediatric Surgery, is a non-ACGME accredited clinical and research fellowship. This program offers specialized training in the principles and practice of multidisciplinary care for traumatically injured patients. The fellowship is part of the Emory + Children's Pediatric Institute, an affiliation between Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta focused on improving children's lives through clinical care, research, and education.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or completed a general surgery postgraduate training program
  • Eligible for medical licensing in the US
  • Able to obtain a Georgia medical license
  • Member of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff in good standing

  • National webinars, through organizations such as Pediatric Trauma Society and Trauma Center Association of America

Responsibilities

  • Maintain responsibility, within the scope of current professional competence, for the care and supervision of assigned patients.
  • Provide patients with care at the generally recognized professional level of quality and efficiency established for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
  • Write orders for treatment under the direction of or to implement the plan of treatment of the Professional Staff member responsible for the child’s care.
  • Abide by the policies and procedures of Children’s and the Rules and Regulations of the Professional Staff.
  • Abide by the ethical principles of their profession.
  • Participate in the quality management/improvement activities of Children’s.
