About The Position

DocStar Medical Partners is seeking a Pediatric General Surgery/Trauma Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a 1-year assignment at a hospital facility in Utah. This is a high-acuity, busy service that requires providers to be knowledgeable, adaptable, flexible, and capable of delivering high-quality care in stressful circumstances. The role involves inpatient pediatric general surgery and trauma care, including assisting in the OR and performing various procedures.

Requirements

• Valid UT license (will wait for license).
• Board Certified (NP or PA).
• BLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• ATLS certification.
• Inpatient pediatric general surgery/trauma specific experience.
• Knowledge and experience with Epic EMR.
• Experience with performing primary & secondary surveys in trauma activations (Trauma 1-3 level).

Nice To Haves

• First-assist skills in OR recommended but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work 40 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour shifts (day and/or night) and 4 hours of professional time for meetings.
• Perform procedures such as drain removal (chest tubes, surgically placed drains), gastric tube replacement, dilation of gastrostomy tracts, repair of simple lacerations, anal dilations, and rectal irrigations.
• Provide first-assist in the OR when needed.
• Conduct primary and secondary surveys in trauma activations (Trauma 1-3 level).
• Deliver high-quality care in stressful circumstances.
