About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Transplant Hepatologist to join their growing team. They are seeking candidates with a strong background in clinical excellence and academic contributions, demonstrated through training and/or practice experience. This is a full or part-time position (50%-100%) requiring onsite work at a designated campus location. The role involves working with vulnerable populations and requires a caregiver check. Applicants will be considered for various professorial titles, with the final title determined by the finalist's experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology (Certificate of Added Qualification) from the American Board of Pediatrics by the appointment start date.
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Transplant Hepatology by the appointment start date.
  • Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program by the start date of the position.
  • WI Medical license by start date of position.
  • Board-certified or board eligible in Pediatrics by start date of position.
  • Completion of a US ACGME-approved pediatric residency program by the start date of the position.
  • Eligibility for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the start date of the position.
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Must be a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, or a foreign national authorized to work without employer sponsorship.
  • Continuous work eligibility in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT or CHS track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT track.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical service to pediatric liver transplant and pediatric liver and GI patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative care for pediatric liver transplant patients.
  • Engage in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.
  • Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health (for CHS track physicians).
  • Collaborate with other faculty members.
  • Carry out independent research/scholarly activity in an area of interest (CHS Track only).
