About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Transplant Hepatologist to join their growing team. They are seeking candidates with a strong background in clinical excellence and academic contributions, demonstrated through training and/or practice experience. This is a full or part-time position (50%-100%) requiring onsite work at a designated campus location. The role involves working with vulnerable populations and requires passing an initial caregiver check, with subsequent checks every four years. Applicants may be considered for various faculty titles including Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS), Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, or Visiting Professor, with the final title determined by the finalist's experience and qualifications.

Requirements

Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology (Certificate of Added Qualification) from the American Board of Pediatrics by the appointment start date.
Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Transplant Hepatology by the appointment start date.
Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program by the start date of the position.
WI Medical license by start date of position.
Board-certified or board eligible in Pediatrics by start date of position.
Completion of a US ACGME-approved pediatric residency program by the start date of the position.
Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the start date of the position.
MD, DO, or equivalent is required.
Must be eligible for continuous work in the United States.
Must provide proof of work authorization and eligibility to work.

Nice To Haves

For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT or CHS track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT track.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical service to pediatric liver transplant and pediatric liver and GI patients in both pediatric liver clinic and pediatric liver transplant clinics.
Share inpatient GI service duties with other division providers.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for pediatric liver transplant patients.
Engage in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
Support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.
Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health (for CHS track physicians).
Work in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
Carry out independent research/scholarly activity in an area of interest (CHS Track only).
