The Pediatric Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) provides comprehensive, high-quality care to pediatric surgical patients across the continuum of care. Working collaboratively with pediatric surgeons, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams, the APP is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of infants, children, and adolescents requiring surgical intervention. This role includes inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, perioperative management, consultation services, and participation in the ongoing care of pediatric surgery patients. Pediatric critical care experience is highly desired to support the complex needs of this patient population. Provides advanced clinical assessment, evaluation, and management of pediatric surgery patients in accordance with established protocols, standards of practice, and state regulations. Performs comprehensive histories and physical examinations, develops and implements treatment plans, and documents all patient care activities accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.
