About The Position

City of Hope is seeking a full-time physician-scientist for an academic position in Duarte, California. The physician will join the Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant program and collaborate with a nationally recognized team of pediatric oncologists. The role includes clinical care, protected academic time, and opportunities to advance research and program development in cell, gene, or transplantation therapy. The position reports to the Chief, Division of Cell, Gene and Transplantation Therapies, Department of Pediatrics. City of Hope is a cancer research and treatment organization whose work spans cancer care, research and development, academics and training, and philanthropy. Its national system includes its Los Angeles campus, Southern California clinical locations, an Orange County cancer center, and facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago, and Phoenix areas.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. from an accredited educational institution.
Fellowship training and board certification in pediatric hematology-oncology.
Possession of, or eligibility for, an unrestricted medical license in California.
Qualifications consistent with appointment at the assistant or associate professor level at City of Hope National Medical Center.

Responsibilities

Provide patient-centered care in collaboration with a team of pediatric oncologists.
Manage diseases in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Collaborate with leaders across City of Hope, the Beckman Research Institute, and TGen.
Pursue academic and research work during protected academic time.
Develop programs in cell, gene, or transplantation therapy, with internal and external visibility and support.
