About The Position

Blue Bird Day is seeking a dedicated and compassionate clinic-based Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their multidisciplinary team in Wheaton, IL. This role involves providing evidence-based, play-focused pediatric therapy in a collaborative, innovative environment for children ages 2-7 years old with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs. The SLP will foster each child's speech, receptive and expressive language, feeding and swallowing needs through individualized and group therapy, implementing therapeutic approaches such as Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding, Get Permission Approach, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and Intentional Relationship Model (IRM). Collaboration with occupational and physical therapists, and social workers, along with documenting progress and communicating with families, are key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) certification/license.
  • Experience with children ages 2-7 years old.
  • Experience with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs.
  • Familiarity with Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding, Get Permission Approach, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and Intentional Relationship Model (IRM).

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech therapy to children ages 2-7 years old with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs.
