About The Position

Shriners Children’s Philadelphia is where hope and healing meet. Our team of highly specialized physicians provides comprehensive care for children with fractures, sports injuries, orthopedic conditions, scoliosis, spinal cord conditions, and spine injuries. We have an opportunity for a full time, Pediatric RN, Surgical Services to join our team! This position has a 36 hour per week schedule (9 eight hour shifts every two weeks.)

Requirements

• RN license in state of practice
• BLS
• PEAR, PALS, ACLS: Obtain within 1 year of employment as required by hospital

Nice To Haves

• BSN
• 2+ years acute care experience
• OR nursing experience
• Prior pediatric acute care, plastic reconstructive surgery and laser experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the Operating Room, and performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery.
• Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.
• Functions within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
• Provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
• Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources.
• May be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
