About The Position

The Surgical Tech-OR functions as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the registered nurse. This role performs scrub functions and other roles that support the perioperative plan of care. The Surgical Tech demonstrates knowledge of operative procedures and utilizes principles of aseptic technique, including but not limited to gowning, gloving, sterilization, and disinfection. The position actively participates in unit activities, ensures positive customer relations interactions, and is on call for weekends, weeknights, and holidays by rotation.

Requirements

Technical Diploma; Associate degree. (Surgical Tech Program)
Completion of a Surgical Technology program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.

Demonstrates knowledge of and utilizes principles of aseptic technique including but not limited to gowning, gloving sterilization, and disinfection.
Actively participates in unit activities.
Ensures positive customer relations interactions.
On call weekends, weeknights, and holidays by rotation.
