About The Position

Shriners Children’s Greenville is seeking a PRN Pediatric Registered Nurse for its Inpatient Unit. This role involves providing 12-hour day shifts (7A-7P) and will include weekend and holiday assignments. The Inpatient Services Unit is recognized for high patient satisfaction, and the nurse will contribute to the well-being of pediatric orthopedic patients and their families. The position offers the chance to join a team of skilled healthcare professionals, including colleagues, orthopedic surgeons, and leadership.

Requirements

  • ADN
  • RN license in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • PALS (to be obtained within 1 year of employment)

Nice To Haves

  • BSN
  • 2 years of Pediatric and/or orthopedic experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
  • Support of professional nursing practice across practice settings and the continuum of care to meet patient and family needs.
  • Functioning within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), including accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
  • Providing leadership through activities such as preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Delegating patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources.
  • Utilizing excellent communication skills, mentoring, and teaching.
  • Potential participation in committees or projects.
