This PRN position on the Pine Pointe Hospice Inpatient Unit requires flexibility to work weekday and weekend shifts, as well as AM and PM shifts. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. The role involves monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. Upholding a culture of safety and continuously evaluating outcomes are key aspects of this role. The nurse may administer medications, treatments, and therapies, and is expected to demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills to foster team collaboration and appropriate delegation. Professional development, required education, and maintaining certifications are also essential. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making is required, along with respecting interdisciplinary roles and contributing to integrated, unbiased patient care. The nurse will delegate appropriately to other healthcare professionals and maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation. This position may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development over the life span and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs.
