About The Position

Austin Radiological Association (ARA) is seeking Pediatric Radiologists to join its pediatric section in Austin, Texas. Candidates may focus on Pediatric General/Body Radiology, Pediatric Interventional Radiology, or a combination of both. The section has a clinical focus of more than 90% pediatric cases and is based at Dell Children's Medical Center, a 248-bed freestanding pediatric facility serving a 46-county area. The hospital is home to the region's only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU. The team also serves additional pediatric facilities and outpatient imaging centers throughout Austin. The pediatric section includes six pediatric radiologists and offers a broad and complex clinical environment with support from Pediatric Neuro, MSK MRI, and Interventional Radiology subspecialists. Diagnostic responsibilities may include pediatric body imaging; CT, MRI, ultrasound, and radiographs; fluoroscopy; emergency and acute-care imaging; inpatient and outpatient imaging; and general body imaging with minimal adult responsibilities. Physicians collaborate with subspecialists and referring providers, participate in multidisciplinary conferences, and may teach residents, fellows, and medical students. Pediatric IR physicians may participate in advanced image-guided procedures, supported by dedicated procedural resources and a pediatric-specific procedural APP. The shared coverage model includes weekday daytime shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, evening coverage from 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and weekend and holiday coverage from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Call and holiday responsibilities are shared evenly across the pediatric section. At-home pager coverage is provided for pediatric fluoroscopy procedures, with an hourly callback stipend. Overnight pediatric diagnostic coverage is provided by a contracted teleradiology service. Flexible internal moonlighting is available on a shift-based or pay-per-study basis. ARA offers a two-year partnership track as well as employed and part-time options. The role includes academic opportunities through the relationship with UT Dell Medical School, along with potential involvement in leadership, education, research, and multidisciplinary clinical initiatives. Compensation is listed at $500,000–$1,000,000, with equal base pay for partners at the same FTE, commencement and retention bonuses, and eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
