About The Position

The Stanford Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Clinician Educator to join the Division of Pulmonary, Asthma and Sleep Medicine. This role will be appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. The primary focus will be on clinical care, teaching, and potentially administrative or scholarship activities. The position is located primarily at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA, with clinical care provided in community hospitals and clinics across the greater east and north bay area. The successful candidate will work with a diverse patient population with a broad range of pulmonary conditions and will participate in the didactics for medical students, residents, and fellows. Research, quality improvement, and program development are encouraged. This role is part of a larger, cohesive group of Pediatric Pulmonologists at Stanford University and Stanford Children’s Health.

Requirements

  • MD/DO degree
  • Board Certification in Pediatrics
  • Either Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine
  • California Medical License by the time of hire
  • Outstanding clinicians with dedication to teaching and mentoring trainees.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional Board Certification in Sleep Medicine is a plus.
  • Specialization in cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease, or sleep medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-patient and out-patient clinical care in several community hospitals and clinics across the greater east and north bay area.
  • Engage in research activities across Stanford University.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in the didactics of medical students, residents and fellows.
  • Contribute to research, quality improvement and program development.
