Pediatric Psychologist - ARFID - $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation HospitalGrand Rapids, MI

About The Position

Mary Free Bed is seeking a pediatric psychologist to work collaboratively with our outpatient team of dieticians and speech and languages therapists and provide outpatient assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with avoidant and restrictive eating (ARFID) related to sensory sensitivities, fear of negative events such as choking, stomach pain, allergic reactions, or vomiting as well as difficulties with limited appetite and food disinterest. A background in exposure-based cognitive behavioral intervention is preferred. There are opportunities for program development (e.g., expanding levels of care). Of note, feeding and eating concerns related to body image and/or weight would not be a focus of this role. Our ideal candidate would be interested in collaborating with other programs (e.g., pediatric pain) and contributing to other pediatric rehabilitation services. Minimum requirements include completion of a doctoral degree from an APA- or CPA-approved program, including APA- or CPA-approved internship. Prior experience in health care settings is desired. Our pediatric programs will be moving to the new Joan Secchia Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital. This will be the first children’s rehabilitation hospital in Michigan and represents a collaboration between Mary Free Bed and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
