About The Position
BrightStar Care is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled RN to provide private duty nursing care for a medically complex infant in the Humble/Kingwood area. This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy building meaningful relationships with families, providing continuity of care, and working independently in a home setting. The Pediatric Private Duty RN provides skilled, one-on-one nursing care in the home according to physician orders and the established plan of care. This nurse will monitor the patient's condition, provide specialized pediatric treatments, administer medications, and collaborate with the family and healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of care.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Minimum one year of nursing experience
- Pediatric experience with BiPAP, suctioning, cough assist, Mic-Key G-tube feedings, and feeding pumps required
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Reliable transportation and current auto insurance
- Ability to pass required background screening and employment requirements
Nice To Haves
- Experience caring for infants and medically complex pediatric patients is strongly preferred.
- Pediatric home health or private duty nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care in accordance with physician orders and the plan of care
- Monitor respiratory status and overall patient condition
- Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
- Manage respiratory therapies including BiPAP, cough assist, and suctioning
- Administer G-tube feedings and manage feeding pumps
- Administer medications and treatments within RN scope of practice
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Follow infection-control standards and agency policies
- Build a positive, professional relationship with the patient and family
