Pediatric Private Duty Nurse
About The Position
SabalCare, LLC is hiring a Pediatric Private Duty Nurse (RN/LPN) to provide one-on-one skilled nursing care in the home for a medically complex infant in the Melbourne, Florida area who is transitioning home from the hospital. The child will require ventilator, tracheostomy, and G-tube care. SabalCare plans to provide 24/7 private duty nursing coverage starting mid-November 2026. Day and night shifts are available, with full-time, part-time, and weekend options. SabalCare is an ACHC-accredited pediatric home health and private duty nursing agency based in Maitland, serving families throughout Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Brevard counties. The agency describes its nurses as essential team members and offers clinical leadership support and orientation to the case.
Requirements
- Active Florida RN or LPN license, or multistate Nurse Licensure Compact license.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Reliable transportation.
- Compassionate, dependable, and calm under pressure.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric ventilator and tracheostomy experience is strongly preferred; relevant settings include PICU, NICU, home health, or private duty nursing.
- G-tube experience is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one skilled nursing care in the home according to the plan of care.
- Manage home ventilator care, including monitoring settings, circuit checks, alarm response, and troubleshooting.
- Perform tracheostomy care, including suctioning, trach site care, and emergency trach changes.
- Manage G-tube feedings, medications, and site care.
- Monitor cardiac and respiratory status, recognize changes, and respond appropriately.
- Administer medications and document care accurately in the EMR.
- Communicate with the family, the Director of Nursing, and the care team.
- Support and educate the family as they learn to care for their child at home.
