Pediatric LVN – One-on-One Care
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide one-on-one skilled nursing care to pediatric patients in their homes. The role supports children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery, helping them remain safely with their families rather than in an inpatient facility. Nurses work structured 8–12-hour shifts and provide individualized care, collaborate with families and the interdisciplinary team, and complete thorough clinical documentation. The position offers full-time and part-time opportunities, flexible scheduling, and clinical support.
Requirements
- Current Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license and current auto liability insurance.
- At least 6 months of pediatric home health experience as an LVN.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled one-on-one nursing care to pediatric patients in their homes during 8–12-hour shifts.
- Care for children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery.
- Assess patient conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs and seizure activity, and providing care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and according to the individualized plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
