About The Position

Blue Bird Day is seeking a dedicated and compassionate clinic-based Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join their multidisciplinary team. This role involves providing evidence-based, play-focused pediatric therapy to children ages 2-7 years old with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs. The PTA will foster each child's mobility, gross motor development, and functional independence growth through individualized and group therapy, implementing therapeutic approaches such as DIR/Floortime, Developmental Treatment, Motor Skills Acquisition, and Intentional Relationship Model (IRM). Collaboration with occupational and speech therapists, as well as social workers, and documentation of progress and communication with families are key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
  • Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as DIR/Floortime, Developmental Treatment, Motor Skills Acquisition, and Intentional Relationship Model (IRM) is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

  • Experience in a specialized intensive pediatric therapeutic day program.
  • Proficiency in play-focused pediatric therapy techniques.

Responsibilities
