Leaps and Bounds Pediatric Therapy is seeking a licensed Certified Physical Therapist to join their Physical Therapy team. This is a multidisciplinary outpatient private practice that offers Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services. They operate in a traditional clinical setting and also incorporate hippotherapy. The practice emphasizes a family-centered mission, aiming to help children reach their therapy goals and improve the quality of life for families. Requirements
- Licensed Certified Physical Therapist
- Experience with pediatric patients
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers
- Ability to document patient care services according to the law
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Ability to adhere to infection-control policies and protocols
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance on equipment

Responsibilities
- Perform assessments and interpretation of evaluations and test results.
- Determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
- Carry out a treatment plan that supports functional improvement across the lifespan.
- Administer manual exercises; instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities and in using assistive and supportive devices.
- Administer physical therapy treatment by applying physical agents, electrical stimulation, and directing treatments given by assistants and aids.
- Evaluate the effects of physical therapy treatments and the fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
- Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers.
- Design home exercise programs and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
- Recommend and/or provide assistive equipment and recommend outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect clinic operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Ensure the operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following manufacturer's instructions.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Develop physical therapy staff by providing information and developing and conducting in-service training programs.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Participate effectively as a member of the IEP team, providing services as part of a comprehensive education plan and in accordance with the written IEP.
