This is a Full Time Day Shift position for a Pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN). The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with appropriate action taken as needed. Medication administration, treatment, and therapy administration are also part of the role, adhering to clinical protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The RN is expected to pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications. Ethical decision-making, respect for interdisciplinary roles, and contribution to integrated, unbiased patient care are paramount, adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and accurate, timely EHR documentation are required. The role may involve floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding principles of growth and development and assessing data reflective of patient status to identify age-specific needs.
