About The Position

The CHOC Specialists’ Division of Pediatric Orthopedics is seeking a faculty physician to join a highly collaborative, clinically active, and collegial team committed to delivering exceptional orthopedic care to children. Our experienced, board-certified pediatric orthopedic physicians provide innovative and compassionate care across the full spectrum of orthopedic conditions and injuries, supported by multiple established subspecialty programs. The Division is part of a large, integrated multispecialty pediatric group with strong interdisciplinary collaboration and comprehensive clinical support services. CHOC Pediatric Orthopedics is also recognized as a regional leader in outreach clinics and telehealth, extending specialized pediatric orthopedic care throughout Southern California. The Division of Pediatric Orthopedics has a longstanding commitment to innovation, research, and education. Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) serves as a major teaching hospital for the UC Irvine School of Medicine, offering rich academic engagement and opportunities for clinical scholarship. The successful candidate will help cultivate an environment that advances the Division’s strong clinical, research, and educational missions. This position offers comprehensive pediatric orthopedic practice within a highly collaborative academic and clinical environment. The successful candidate will join a well-established division with access to robust clinical infrastructure and meaningful academic engagement.

Requirements

  • M.D. or equivalent
  • Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Eligibility for licensure in the State of California
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopedics

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in academic medicine, outreach, or program development
  • Clinical interests or expertise in one or more of the following areas: Neuromuscular conditions, Clubfoot, Upper extremity disorders, Limb deformity, Pediatric trauma, Sports-related injuries

Responsibilities

  • Practice within a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, providing exposure to complex and high-acuity orthopedic cases
  • High-volume elective pediatric orthopedic practice, complemented by trauma care
  • Shared call coverage model, with call responsibilities distributed across a team of pediatric orthopedic surgeons
  • Opportunities for research support, teaching, and resident education through CHOC’s academic affiliation with the UC Irvine School of Medicine
  • Cultivate an environment that advances the Division’s strong clinical, research, and educational missions.
